FAQ about transports by air freight (A/F)
cargo weights being declared in gross-weights (GW) shown as kilogramms (KGS)
volume-weight ratio usually is 1/6 (1m3 = 167kgs)
airfreight costs are based on cargoes chargeable weight (CW)
costs and feasibility being based on general cargo

Common terms of delivery (INCO-Terms 2020) for airfreight are FCA shipper, FCA carrier airport departure, CPT/CIP or DPU/DAP/DDP

for duty-free clearances, shippers to provide valid perferential customs forms (independent of a.m. delivery terms)
all addresses, packing- and flight-details are declared on the Airwaybill (AWB),
as well as the Airport of Loading (AOL) and Airport of Destination (AOD)
between freight forwarders MAWB (master-AWB) being issued, and HAWB (house-AWB) between shipper/consignee; often the MAWB being issued directly in the name of shipper/consignee.
For cargo-release mostly a AWB copy by email is sufficient (by the authorized consingee).
shipper to provide shipping documents for customs clearance at destination, called CI/PL (commercial invoice & packing list)
in some countries customs clearances can be done with mail copies, without any original
preferential customs documents are required mostly as original form (approved by authorities)
such documents are for ex. C.O.O Certificate of origin, EUR1, FormA etc. (for samples click here)
all packages being security checked by X-ray at the AOL, except where consignor is Known-Shipper
at AOL/AOD the shipments are handled by local handling agents
storages at the airports are very expensive. tariffs and free time period depend on each airline and airport
therefore we recommend to get handled all shipments by professional freight forwarders
carriers liability (such as airlines or hauliers) is restricted, as well as freight forwarders liability
coverage of transport insurance by freight forwarders only against written order
